As of March 2017, the Short Stop Coffee Shop, a long-running diner in the Riverdale section of the Bronx, has closed permanently and is no longer in operation.
The business, which had been located on Broadway near the 242nd Street subway station, shut its doors for the final time on Sunday, March 19, 2017.
An article from the publication The Quadrangle (Manhattan.edu - Manhattan College (reported on the closure in April 2017, noting that demolition and renovation were already underway.

Ate here on Comedians In Cars with Amy Schumer. What I like about this superb dining establishment is they have an extensive menu: Fried shrimp with tartar sauce, Chicken souvlaki, grilled mozzarella, tuna fish, bread and butter, corn niblets. We ate none of this. Drinks? Forget it. They have everything! Sanka, Snapple, egg creams, hot chocolate. We drank none of these. All we had was coffee. Why? BECAUSE THAT'S THE TITLE OF THE SHOW!
What I like about the Shortstop restaurant in the Bronx is that you cannot get a haircut here. That keeps the traffic down. Why? BECAUSE NO SANE RESTAURANT WOULD GIVE HAIRCUTS! I HAVE NEVER SEEN ONE. IT'S NOT COMEDIANS IN CARS GETTING HAIRCUTS! 5 Stars! We loved it.
